Make your own Mario Question Mark Block Shelf

This is a really great way to make your Super Mario themed bedroom both practical and fun. All you need to do is buy some yellow boxes from IKEA, and insert them into an IKEA Kallax shelving unit. Download the question mark template below, print it out onto thick photo paper or thin card, carefully cut out the question mark and the holes for the corners, then spray mount onto the front of the storage boxes. It should turn out looking something like this! Easy, and all for less than £40.

UPDATE: Ikea no longer make this box in yellow - however you can still buy it in white and spray it yellow. Please scroll down to see other options though!

UPDATE! IKEA now make the Kallax unit with bright yellow doors. If you can afford it - this is a better idea, as the doors will last much longer than the Tjena boxes above.

Bold & Colourful Mario Bedroom

This is one of my favourite Super Mario bedroom mural bedrooms that I have found on the internet. It is bold and colourful without being too fussy and cluttered.

The cute 1-UP mushroom on the bed is available from Ebay shop Globebazzar. You can also buy a green 1-UP Mushroom cushion, and an invincible star cushion, as well as lots of plush toys.

Super Mario Sweetie Tin Set

Super Mario Sweetie Tin Set from Amazon.co.uk

I bought these for my My Super Mario Boy's Mario themed bedroom and they are such a lovely touch. The Super Mario tins are really good quality and look fantastic -they are quite small and very cute. The question mark block tin contains tiny yellow coin shaped sweeties, the invincible star tin contains tiny candy stars, the power-up mushroom contains little mushroom shaped sweeties, and the Mario face tin contains some weird red pellets that actually taste like disclosing tablets - oh well! You can purchase them from Amazon for about £12.95.

Technically this is an antislip doormat but it would look great in a Mario themed bedroom. The green stripes resemble the nicely mowed lawn that you often find in Super Mario 3D World. At only £4.50 from Ikea this is a brilliant way to add a splash of colour. You could even put a few in a row and it would be just like hopping between mario islands.

TVIS Mat from Ikea, £4.50

You could also go for a simple grass effect shaggy rug.

Super Mario Bedroom Mural by Artist Sarah

Mario Wall Murals by Artist Sarah McDonald

These fantastic Super Mario wall murals are by Artist Sarah McDonald from Devon, UK, who specialises in retro art. They are my favourite on the internet. The colour scheme she has used is bright but not garish, the style is bold and just overall really cute. It's one of the most mature Mario themed bedrooms I have seen, I think both children and adults would love it. See all of the photos of this masterpiece below, you can also visit Sarah's website here.
