Cut out your own Cappy!

Printable Cappy Download PDF
I just found this on the Nintendo Kids Club website to download and print out. You can turn it into a mask by attaching elastic to it, or attach it to wooden dowel or bamboo skewers to make a photobooth prop!

Super Mario Photo Booth with Props!

This was the highlight of the birthday party. It was a Nintendo DS themed birthday party so we made a giant DS photo booth out of cardboard and wood. On it we stuck buttons (which you can download below) and Super Mario Wall Stickers from Amazon.  Then made loads of props - something to suit everybody! We just used bamboo skewers taped on with duct tape to make handles for the props. The main hats and moustaches I downloaded from http://babalisme.blogspot.com so thank you very much for making those available!

Super Mario Three-Tierd Birthday Cake

We were really pleased with how this all buttercream super mario, three teired cake turned out! The top level being a yellow star, middle level iconic mario clouds with eyes, a grass bottom teir, and classic Mario Kart stripy baseboard. Decorated with Mario figurines of course. Inside was classic victoria sponge and jam.We put it on a spinning lazy susan for added effect!

Super Mario Colouring-In Sheets

I love these cute Cat Mario coloring in sheets from Nintendo Kids Club Website! On the official website there is a helpful PDF download of Cat Mario, Cat Peach, plus a cute Cat Compilation for any Cat Mario fans to download and colour-in to you heart's content. These would be great to have as a craft activity at a Super Mario birthday party.

Super Mario Scavenger Hunt with Downloads

For my son's birthday party I designed this Super Mario "Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker" scavenger hunt game. I've made some PDF's so that you can download and print your own Mario-themed scavenger hunt below.

Instructions: First, print off and cut out all of the clues to hide around your party venue (go easy on little kids - make it harder for older kids!) I laminated them on brightly coloured card to make it easy for my 5-year olds. Next, print off a clue sheet for each child and give them a pencil. The children manically run around (to Mario themed music!) and tick off all of the clues as they find them. The winner is the first to find all of the clues. I gave the winner 10 gold chocolate coins. Click on the images below to download the PDF's:

Super Mario Homemade Party Bags

Super Mario birthday party homemade party bags! I just used plain brown paper lunch bags from Home Bargains, alphabet stickers that I found in my local post office, then I printed off a variety of Mario mushrooms; including 1-Up mushrooms, Power-Up mushrooms, Invincible mushrooms etc. and used a different one on each bag. Really cheap and simple but very effective. You can download the mushrooms that I used by clicking the image below to download the PDF:

Mario Mushroom Party Skewers

Super Mario Birthday Party Mushrooms
Here's my idea for a simple Mario-themed treat for your Mario birthday party (a great alternative for those kids with egg and gluten allergies too!). All you need is:

Kebab skewers
Marshmallows
Strawberries
White chocolate
Piping bag
Baking potato
Tin foil

To make the stand, cut the baking potato in half, and cover with tin foil. You can then poke each mushroom skewer into it so that they stand upright.

Carefully pull the leafy ends off the strawberries. Put a marshmallow, followed by an upside down strawberry, onto the end of each skewer. Melt a little white chocolate and pour it into a piping bag with small nozzle. Pipe dots of chocolate all over each strawberry. And there you have it.

Super Mario Chocolate Mustaches

I made these for my son's Super Mario birthday party and they gave every child (and adult) such a giggle. I bought the silicone mold from Amazon, the paper lollipop sticks you can get from almost any supermarket, pound shop, or craft shop. I just used cheap milk chocolate, melted it, poured it into the molds (making sure to give it a good tap to get rid of air bubbles), then left in the fridge to set. Easy. Another idea for an awesome Mario themed birthday party.

Super Mario Party Bag Fillers

Here are some really cool ideas for things to fill your party bags with at your child's Super Mario birthday party  (these are all also fantastic Christmas stocking fillers for your Super Mario fan!). If you wanted something cheap and easy you can just buy a big stack of Super Mario Lucky Surprise Bags. I've tried to source for you the most inexpensive places in the UK (including delivery) to buy all of these party supply items in bulk. Have a look at Tesco Party online as well to find lots of Mario party supplies all in one place.

Here are the official Super Mario Bros party bags. You could get creative and make your own boxes or bags but here is the easy option!

These Mario Surprise eggs are quite cute and really fun for kids. Inside you get some little star shaped sweets, a sticker, and a toy which could be either a badge, a keyring, or a whistle.

Super Mario Surprise Eggs £15.99 for 18 from ZAP Sweets
My son loves these. For a while they were selling them in the magazine section of Tesco. Inside, you get a Donkey Kong poster, a lollipop, some refresher-style sweets, a Mario colouring-in sheet, some little paper things to hook over your pencils, and a toy which could be a whistle, question mark post-it notes, a Yoshi keyring, a Mario & Luigi jigsaw puzzle, or some pop out playing cards. Loads to do.

They are what they are. Pez Dispensers! Choose from Mario, Toad, or Yoshi!

Super Mario themed Qube's are small blue plastic brick shape tubs with lids that contain strawberry chewy candy, a sticker, sweets and a standee to collect and build. I have found these on Appleton Sweets website, however as they are a wholesale website the delivery fee is huge! I did find some in Toys'R'Us recently so have a look there first.

I love these Super Mario badges. My son likes to pin them onto his Mario plush toys! Great for school bags too. You could even buy a couple of packs and split them up for party bags.
Super Mario Badge Pack £3.89 for 5 badges from Amazon
These Mario Flyers are a bit of a disposable toy but fun nevertheless. A good addition to any party bag.

I love these collectable keyrings on chains! They are a little pricey but if your budget will stretch they are a great little party bag filler or stocking filler, and not one that you will just throw away.

My Super Mario Birthday Party

For my son's 4th Birthday party he obviously chose to have a Mario themed birthday party. We hired a hall, created some Mario themed party games like "Yoshi Egg and Spoon Race", "Squash the Goombas", "Throw the balls in the Piranha Pots", "Knock down the Mario blocks" and "Pin the mustache on Mario". It was just like an old fashioned village fete! I bought all of the Mario themed decorations and tableware from Tesco Party, and made everything else.
